Our approach

It starts in the hands,
and in the soil.

We are a regenerative specialty farm. Before anything is planted, we feed the ground it will grow in: compost, cover, care. Healthy soil grows food worth trusting, and keeps giving for the families who come after.

01

Soil first.

We treat soil as a living thing, not a growing medium. Compost and cover feed it between plantings, beds rest when they need to, and we measure success in how the ground improves year over year, not only in what it yields.

02

Grown to order.

We plant with our community's table in mind and harvest only what has been spoken for. Ordering closes Thursday night; harvest happens the morning your food goes out. Nothing waits in a warehouse, because freshness is not a promise we make, it is a schedule we keep.

Leafy green beds stretching across the farm, Guelph

Freshness is not a promise we make, it is a schedule we keep.

03

Tended by hand.

Every bed is planted, weeded and cut by hand. Hands notice what machines miss: the leaf that needs shade, the row that needs water, the crop that is ready a day early.

Every crop, like it matters.

From Callaloo (Ẹ̀fọ́ Tẹ̀tẹ̀) to Swiss Chard, each crop gets the same light, attention and respect. It is how we introduce what we grow, and how we grow it.

This is what soil-first means to us: patient ground, honest timing, careful hands.
