Our story

A taste of home,
grown in Ontario soil.

Shekhinah EcoSmart Farms began in 2025 with a simple conviction: that the food which shaped who we are should never be out of reach, no matter how far from home we plant our lives.

We are a regenerative specialty farm rooted in Guelph and Cambridge, Ontario. On open fields and in our growing rooms, we raise the Afro-Caribbean heritage crops our communities grew up on, alongside the everyday vegetables that fill a Canadian kitchen. Callaloo (Ẹ̀fọ́ Tẹ̀tẹ̀), Jute Mallow (Ẹ̀wẹ́dú), Fluted Pumpkin Leaves (Ụ́gụ́), African Basil (Ẹ̀fírín), grown right here, in this soil, with care.

For many of the families we serve, something quiet happens at the table. Since arriving in Canada, the first time they taste their native greens again is the day we deliver them. In that moment, a plate becomes a doorway. The distance closes. For a little while, you are simply home.

That is the value we carry into every harvest. We are not only growing vegetables. We are growing nearness: to a place, to a memory, to a way of eating that says you belong. It is a privilege we hold with both hands, and one we will never take for granted.

So we grow to order and pick fresh, because food that carries this much meaning deserves to arrive at its best. We tend the soil so it keeps giving for the families who come after. And we build this farm the way we hope to be known: order fresh, serve well, grow community.

Rooted in Light. Nourishing Life.
